12×12 / Win Win Win $£$.

So Red Bull Music Academy is about to go into it’s last official week here in London, and it’s safe to say that they’ve left some of their best events til last. Brainfeeder @ Fabric on Wednesday and then 12×12 @ Scala on Thursday.

The name pretty much says what 12×12 does and is. 12 producers of what RBMA have dubbed ‘seminal London anthems’ each play for 12 minutes (presumably more than once). Like the Culture Clash it’s just yet another event that they’ve put on that actually thinks about the curation of a night, rather than just putting DJs on. When you look at whose playing you know there is going to be some pretty special tunes drawn for, add Hexstatic supplying the visuals and you’ve got yourself a special night right there. It’s this Thursday 11th @ The Scala, £12 though all proceeds go to War Child more details on Facebook.

Playing on the night:-
A Guy Called Gerald (London)
Arthur Baker (London)
Jazzie B (Soul II Soul, London)
Martyn Ware (Human League, Heaven 17, London)
MJ Cole (Prolific, London)
Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order, Manchester)
Robert Owens (Fingers Inc., London)
Roni Size (Full Cycle, V Recordings, Bristol)
Shades Of Rhythm (London)
Shy FX & Stamina MC (Digital Soundboy, London)
X-Press 2 (Junior Boy’s Own, Skint, London)
Zinc (Bingo Beats, London) & Dynamite MC (Strong Records, London)

All you have to do is email your name and the answer to pipedownclub@gmail.com, we’ll notify the winner via email on the Thursday.
