04 of our mix series comes from Acto. Glasgow based Acto is a member of the All Caps Family, DJs regularly on Subcity radio with fellow All Caps member RZA and is also a mean producer operating in that space between house and garage that seems to be so fruitful, just wait ’til you hear the bits he’s been sending over.

At the moment most of the outward attention to Glasgow is on either on LuckyMe or Nmbrs and all their associated artists (whether hip-hop or house and garage based). But, in these circles at least, there is one sonic movement in the city that seems to be overlooked > techno. There’s a whole history of techno in Glasgow that runs much longer than new boys LuckyMe or Numbrs, Slam and Soma are a case in point and just the tip of the iceburg. Sub Club regularly hosts both Nmbrs and Soma Records nights. Glasgow has a melting pot of styles to rival London and here Acto brings them all together > grime, house, dubstep, garage and techno.
